Operation Christmas Child
Oct 9 - Nov 4
It’s that time of year again to pack a shoebox!
Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan’s Purse, an international Christian relief and evangelism organization headed by Franklin Graham. The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world, and together with the local church worldwide, to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. Since 1993, Operation Christmas Child has collected and delivered more than 157 million gift-filled shoeboxes to children in more than 160 countries and territories. For many of these children, the gift-filled shoebox is the first gift they have ever received.
The beauty of this ministry is that the gift boxes become a tool to share the Gospel with children all over the world. The boxes are distributed through local churches in foreign countries which then opens the doors for children of all ages to take part in a discipleship program where they will hear about Jesus — many for the very first time.
You can share in this global ministry by packing a shoebox. Grab one of your own shoeboxes or pick one up at church along with a brochure with instructions of what to include and not to include. Then, bring your box to the church office by November 4 to begin its journey to a child somewhere in the world.
