At Northway, we believe there are three different ways to engage in missions:
Serving at Northway on Sunday mornings
Local missions in Macon and Middle Georgia
We believe that you don’t have to go on a mission trip to a foreign country in order to make a difference. One of the best ways to change the world is by starting right here at your local church, serving on Sundays.
Northway seeks to be a light in the community by reaching beyond the walls of the church. As a result, we have developed partnerships with ministries in and around the Macon area to provide opportunities of service. Some of these partners are:
Project Giving is a ministry to build bridges of hope to people in the middle Georgia community who have financial needs due to medical issues. Volunteers serve in their special events and participate in their Christmas family adoption program.
Volunteers serve as the Association offers a food distribution ministry to those in need each Tuesday through their storehouse ministry.
Caring Solutions assists those dealing with unplanned pregnancies. Volunteers can be involved in all facets of the center from clerical work to counseling. Training is provided.
This is a faith-based ministry providing residential programs to those facing homelessness, domestic violence, and addiction. There are numerous ways to serve and be involved in this ministry.
Macon Area Habitat for Humanity is part of a global, non-profit, housing organization operated on Christian principles that seeks to put God’s love into action by building homes, communities, and hope. Volunteers can serve individually or in groups to assist with building projects throughout the year.
Once a quarter, the church family is given the opportunity to make tangible donations to support a local ministry or group. Examples may be school supplies for a neighboring school, winter coats for those in need, or canned goods for various food pantries.
Northway sends teams of people across the world to share the love of Christ. You don’t have to have any special qualification to go on a short-term trip, just a heart willing to serve. Each summer, we send a group to Rabun Gap in north Georgia where we partner with local churches there to lead Bible schools at the churches, apartment complexes, and campgrounds. We have a current partnership in Haiti with a missionary family where we have sent teams to do medical clinics and church support. We have also taken teams to Malawi and Honduras.
