Associate Student Pastor Job Description 

Mission Statement: Creating mature, gospel-centered disciples of Jesus Christ who will in turn go out into all the world and replicate the disciple making process to the end of giving God great glory by our enjoyment of Him.

Goal: Teaching, correcting, modeling, and loving students

Qualification:

  • Must be a born again believer with a maturing relationship with Christ
  • Must show a faithful pursuit of leadership characteristics as listed in I Timothy 3
  • Model above-reproach behavior for students in all facets of personal life
  • Possesses a solid understanding of fundamental Christian theology
  • Effectively preach the Bible both exegetically and topically
  • Ability to facilitate healthy small group dynamics
  • Fully support the vision of Northway Church
  • Display genuine and authentic love for students
  • Capable of relating to students of all ages
  • Proper understanding of evangelism and discipleship

Responsibilities: 

  • Weekly preaching during the forum
  • Occasionally plan and implement Sunday morning and evening service
  • Participate in weekly Fe groups
  • Meet with students throughout the week
  • Support students by attending their sporting and extra-curricular events
  • Aid student minister in planning and implementing events, trips, and camps.
  • Attend weekly staff meetings
  • Complete readings assigned by student minister and discuss them weekly
  • Encourage and assist Fe leaders during weekly programming
  • Assist in social media promotions
  • Provide general support to student minister

Scope:

  • Full time position with benefits
  • Position has potential to change as growth occurs. Therefore, position will be reevaluated after one year in both structure and occupancy.
