Kevin Mills

Lead Pastor

As the Lead Pastor at Northway, Kevin Mills is passionate about seeing people grow closer to God, connect with others, and change the world. He has served at Northway since 2007 alongside his wonderful family. He and his wife, Katie, have two children. The Mills love being foster parents, so they normally have at least one more little child with them. Kevin enjoys spending time with his family, exercising, and playing golf.

What’s one thing that most people don’t know about you?

Nothing. Everything about me has at one point been used as an illustration in one of my sermons. And now I’m out of personal illustrations and starting to use other people’s stories. (i.e., This reminds me of the time I was singing the National Anthem before the Super Bowl…)

How would someone describe you?

A great singer (why are you laughing?)

How do you drink your coffee?

One sip at a time. One time I tried gulping it, but it burned my tongue. Really bad. So I went back to sipping.

What’s your favorite state in the U.S.?

Georgia, of course, but I love the beaches of South Carolina.

Kayla Caffarelli

Director of Operations

Kayla has attended Northway since July 2012 and became the Financial Administrator in 2014. She and her husband Nathan met and married on The Farm Golf Course and they have one son. Some of her hobbies include hiking, spinning, and playing baseball and golf with her family.

What’s your favorite dessert?

Chocolate chip pie.

How do you like your coffee?

With whole milk and I occasionally add a little sugar.

What’s your favorite state in the U.S. and why?

South Carolina because I love walking around the city of Charleston with all of its historic buildings and also having the beach so close by to visit.

What is your idea of the perfect Saturday morning?

Start the morning out with a cup of coffee and while sipping a few cups, read and watch cartoons.

Phil Anderson

Connections Pastor

Phil Anderson has served as part of the Northway team since April 2008. He and his wife, Penny, have been married since 1982 and have two married adult children, and two grandchildren. Phil is an avid sports fan, especially Georgia Tech football and Atlanta Braves baseball.

What’s one thing that most people do not know about you?

I wear three contact lenses.

What’s your favorite state in the U.S. and why?

I love Georgia as my wife and two children were born here. But, I grew up in North Carolina and lived there 15 years prior to returning to Georgia. In North Carolina I enjoyed the four distinct seasons with the mountains and beaches a short distance in either direction.

What moment are you most proud of?

Seeing my kids grow up to marry wonderful spouses who love the Lord and love and support each other.

Other fun facts about you:

In college, I was part of a band that recorded three albums (yes, on vinyl) that sold about 963 units.

Alana Garrison

Small Groups Assistant

Alana and her husband Blake (high school sweethearts) were both born and raised in Macon. They were married in 2013 and have been attending Northway for a little over 2 years.

What’s the one thing that most people don’t know about you?

I love to sing but I’m terrified of being on stage.

Clint Harrison

Executive Pastor

Clint began attending Northway in 2013 and joined the team as our Youth Pastor in November 2014. He and his wife Jeanne were married in 2006 and have three daughters. He enjoys ultimate Frisbee, ping pong, reading, finding cool restaurants, and spending time with his friends and family.

What is one thing that most people do not know about you?

The first time I met my wife I challenged her to a push-up contest and almost lost! To be fair, she was a state-level weight lifter and did 61 pushups - I did 63.

How would someone describe you?

ADD, enthusiastic, competitive, passionate about Jesus, and…what was the question again?

What’s your favorite dessert?

Coffee and donuts from a restaurant called 29 South in Fernandina, Florida. It is a hybrid of donut meets bread pudding with coffee ice cream and hot fudge! It is incredible! Day trip anybody?

I grew up in Macon, Georgia, and attended 5+ different schools.

Stephen Howard

Student Pastor

Stephen is a graduate of the University of South Alabama and before coming to Northway, served as the Associate Student Pastor at First Baptist Fairhope in Alabama for several years. Stephen served as the Associate Student Pastor at Northway for eight months and was promoted to Student Pastor in April 2017! Stephen is engaged to Sarah Rios, who is currently on staff at First Presbyterian Church in Macon.

What’s your favorite dessert?

Easy: cheesecake.

What's something most people don't know about you?

I was born in Vienna, Austria!

What’s your favorite state in the U.S. and why?

Georgia, because that's where my family is.

Lisa Bonney

Student Ministry Assistant

Lisa has attended Northway since 2008 and joined staff in 2013. She and her husband Jay have one daughter. Lisa loves to cook, travel, and has an interest in photography.

What’s one thing most people don’t know about you?

I have been known to listen to Christmas music in July!

What’s your favorite dessert?

Anything chocolate!!

Kelsie Hays

Director of Kids Ministry

Kelsie joined the Northway family as a student ministry intern Summer 2016. She joined our team full-time as the Kids Ministry Assistant Fall 2016 and was promoted to Director of Kids Ministry in Spring 2017! Kelsie is a graduate of the University of North Georgia with a degree in Middle Grades Education, focusing in math and science. We are so excited to have Kelsie as part of the Northway family!

What’s 1 thing most people don’t know about you?

One thing people probably don't know about me is that I'm secretly terrified of cats. (It's not a secret anymore)

What’s your favorite dessert?

I love Icecream of any kind! But my favorite kind of icecream is Cotton Candy Explosion Icecream from Bruster's.

How do you drink your coffee?

I drink my coffee strong with a lot of French Vanilla Creamer. It's more like a little coffee with a lot of creamer.

How would someone describe you?

Someone would probably describe me as goofy, talkative, energetic and outgoing.

Kim Michael

Director of Preschool Ministries

Kim's family joined Northway in early 2014, and she joined the staff in May 2015. She has been married to her awesome husband, Matthew, since 2004 and they have 3 wild boys (and she said no, they are not going to try for a girl). Kim loves taking the kids on new adventures, house projects, and seeing concerts with Matthew.

What’s one thing that most people don’t know about you?

I was a camp counselor in England for a summer in college.

Lorde, Hipster mixes (whatever that means), Taylor Swift (don’t judge me).

What’s your idea of the perfect Saturday morning?

Waking up late, making pancakes, and doing whatever my boys want to do.

The birth of my kids.

Sarah Holukoff

Weekday Preschool Director

Sarah began serving at Northway in February 2013. Her husband Brock is from Winnipeg, Canada, but they met at Toccoa Falls College. They were married in June 2002 at North Woodbury Alliance Church in Ohio where she served as the Children’s and Preschool Minister. They have two children, one son and one daughter. Sarah is very passionate about teaching others about Jesus. She loves outdoor activities like biking, swimming, and hiking. She also loves traveling to other countries and playing with the family Great Pyrenees puppy, Heidi, and their cat, Edward.

What’s one thing that most people don’t know about you?

In all the years Brock and I have been married, we have never had cable TV.

What is your favorite state in the U.S. and why?

Florida because it is an amazing place to board a vast array of cruise destinations!

What moment are you most proud of?

The days that my children were born. Truly amazing and unforgettable. Such a gift to be included in God’s blessing of birth.

Other fun facts about you:

I enjoy reading. Our family loves to watch the great classics of Leave it to Beaver, Adam 12, Emergency, and any musicals. Growing up in Ohio imprinted the love of a snowy winter. Sledding, ice skating, snow ball fights, and snow angels are a huge part of my childhood.

Janice Slavin

Parent’s Morning Out Director

Janice began attending Northway in 2013. She and her husband Mike were married in 2001. They have two daughters born in 2002 and 2003, both of whom attended preschool and kindergarten at Northway. Janice loves to read, her kindle goes everywhere with her, and she likes to bake and work in the garden as well.

How would someone describe you?

Friends and family would definitely say I am a Mama Bear. I love my kids and will always protect them.

What’s one thing that most people don’t know about you?

Science fiction and super hero movies are my favorite. Anything else puts me right to sleep.

What’s your favorite dessert?

If it’s sweet I like it. Cake, cookies, pie, ice cream, candy, all desserts are my favorite.

How do you drink your coffee?

I love my Keurig and Community brand dark roast coffee. I add real cream.

David Wall

Director of Media and Technology

David Wall began doing the media work for Northway in March 2004, but came on as a staff member in 2005. He and his wife, Terri, have been married since January 1992 and have two sons . His hobbies include music, art, and Legos.

How do you like your coffee?

I like a little coffee with my creamer.

What is one thing that most people do not know about you?

The fact that something has an on/off switch doesn’t necessarily mean I know everything there is to know about said something.

How would others describe you?

Nerd Chic

What is your proudest moment?

My son’s senior soccer banquet where I heard from others the impact that his faith had on his coach and teammates.

Megan DeLong

Director of Worship, Communications, and Women's Ministries

Megan started attending Northway in 2011 and started working at Northway in 2014. She married her best friend Adam in 2009. They have two dog-children, Darwin and Church. Megan loves to read, write music, and take photos.

What’s one thing that most people don’t know about you?

I secretly wish I was left-handed (now, not-so-secretly).

How do you drink your coffee?

One barista told me that I take my coffee “platinum blonde”: dark/bold roast, but tons of milk and sugar. It should look like chocolate milk when you’re done.

What’s your favorite state in the U.S. and why?

Hawaii because…DUH. Incredible beaches everywhere, the Pacific in all her many-shades-of-blue majesty, and at night the stars are NUTS.

What’s your idea of the perfect Saturday morning?

Step 1: sleep in (this assumes the dogs are at Nana’s house). Step 2: eat pancakes (that I didn’t have to make…obviously). Step 3: take coffee out onto the porch and leisurely read the latest National Geographic Traveler cover to cover.

Eric Hays

Assistant Director of Worship, Coordinator of Youth Worship

Eric graduated from Georgia College in Milledgeville with a Bachelors degree in Marketing. He has a passion for worship and began leading our youth band in 2014. Eric came on staff as worship intern in January of 2016 and transitioned into the Assistant Director position in Fall 2017.

What’s your favorite dessert?

My mom's chocolate pound cake. I don't really care about it unless it came from her kitchen.

Uh...I don't. But, I do love a good chai tea latte. It tastes like fall.

I have a Moe's obsession. I've been to Moe's upwards of 500 times. And yes...I keep track.
